My Recent Trip to MAC

My Recent MAC Purchased

So, I thought I would do a quick post on a few bits I picked up from MAC last week. I have been using MAC for years and I am a huge fan of their eyeshadows imparticular.

The first think I picked up was a quad palette and four new eyeshadows. The eyeshadows retail at £10.00 and the empty quad palettes for £6.50. The shades I opted for were :-

  • SHALE - A mauve-plum with a subtle shimmer. This is a really nice lid colour as it isn't too pigmented but nice just for a minimal wash of colour.
  • SATIN TAUPE - A taupe shade with silver shimmer. Again, this is a lovely shade to wear all over the lid and looks stunning just on its own.
  • SWISS CHOCOLATE - A matte muted warm reddish brown. This is such a versatile shade and great for blending in the crease or outer corners for definition.
  • SKETCH - Deep burgundy with red shimmer. This is such as beautiful shade and I love to wear this shade in the outer corners for definition and a warm smokey eye.
From left to right, Shale, Satin Taupe, Swiss Chocolate, Sketch

I also picked up one of MAC's pigments. I decided to go for the very popular 'Naked' pigment. This shade is a flesh beige with a pearly/shimmery finish. You can apply the pigments wet or dry, when applied with a damp brush they become alot more pigmented. I love to wear this shade all over my lid or under my brow bone to highlight. MAC's pigments retail at £17.00, however they currently have their 'sized to go' pigments, which are smaller and just £10.00.

Lastly, I picked up one of the MAC's Patent Polish Lip Pencils in the shade Kittenish. These are a relatively new release for MAC and retail at £14.50. There are currently twelve shades available.

These lip pencils give the colour and shine of a gloss but leave the lips feeling soft, moisturised and non sticky. The pencil as a twist up applicator, similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks and are very easy to use.

The shade Kittenish is a Mauvey Pink shade and I find it compliments my skin tone really well. I would definitely recommend these lip pencils and I will purchasing the shade 'Berry Bold' very soon!

My New Purchase - 3.1 Phillip Lim Mini Pashli Bag

Phillip Lim Mini Pashli Bag

So, I have been on the lookout for a small, crossbody style bag for a while now. I had seen many about, but I couldn't decide which one to get. After much deliberation, I opeted for the Mini Pashli from Phillip Lim.

I purchased this bag from Harvey Nichols and it cost £5.85. It is a small bag, that can be worn as a 'cross body' bag, but also has to top handles and detachable straps, so can also be used as a handbag.

In terms of quality, the leather itself is very hard wearing. It has a grainy texture and so will not scratch or crease, like some soft leathers tend to do.

These bags are notorious for their hardware detailing. It has two gold zips down the front and a gold clasp fastening to the front. The clasp fastening and the fastening you can see on the top handles, makes this bag very secure, which I really like.

In terms of size and space, this bag is relatively small. I use this bag when I will not be carrying alot around with me. As you can see from the above image, it comfortably fits my Chanel wallet, aswell as my i phone, car keys and lipgloss.

This is great little bag and a perfect addition to my handbag collection. If you were perhaps thinking about purchasing one of these bags from Phillip Lim, I can definitely recommend them. They are hard wearing, practical and look great!

So, this is my first ever blog post and I thought to myself,  'what a better way to kick things off than to talk about my summer favourites!?

I have recently just got back from vacation and I am all in summer mode, so I have put together a few of my personal recommendations and 'must have's' for this summer, Enjoy!!!!

So, I don't need to tell you guys how important it is to wear SPF in these summer months, right!? I always wear products containing SPF on my face and lips and it is also unlikely you will find me without sunglasses on whilst the sun is shining!

Below is a full list of the products shown above;

  • Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream £9.99 - In the summer months, I prefer to wear a light base and this one from Bourjois is perfect. It gives a luminous finish to the skin, has SPF 15 and provides 24 hours hydration. What more could you want!?
  • Caudalie Paris Beauty Elixir 30ml £11.50 - Reportedly a favourite of Victoria Beckham herself, this refreshing and moisturising face mist is great for during the hot summer months. The handy 30ml travel size also makes it perfect to pop in your handbag whilst on the go!
  • Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush £28.00 - These blushes from Hourglass are one of my all time favourite blushes, and the shade Luminous Flush is perfect for summertime! This blush gives a subtle and understated flush of pink to the cheeks and leaves a beautiful glow to the skin. Definitely worth the investment!
So, there you have my recommendations for this summer. If you are wondering what the sunglasses are in the above image, they are from Chanel. I don't actually know the exact name for these I am afraid. They are from a couple of seasons ago, but are still my go to shades this summer, I love them!!
